JSONCraft — Privacy Policy & Terms

JSONCraft is a 100% client-side tool. We do not operate a backend, we do not store your JSON, and we do not run analytics or advertising scripts. This page describes exactly what the application does, what the browser stores locally, and the terms under which you use JSONCraft.

Privacy Policy

JSONCraft does not collect, transmit, or store any JSON you paste, load, or create. All processing — formatting, validation, repair, diffing, querying, and conversion — happens in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The application makes zero network requests after the initial page load; this is verifiable in your browser's DevTools Network tab.

We do not use tracking cookies, pixels, or third-party analytics. We do not know who you are, what you format, or when you visit. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may collect anonymous aggregate request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for abuse prevention; those logs are not associated with any JSON content and are retained per Vercel's policy.

Terms of Service

JSONCraft is provided free of charge, as-is, under the MIT License, without warranty of any kind. You may use JSONCraft for any lawful purpose, including commercial work. You are responsible for the content you process; JSONCraft's authors are not liable for data loss, misuse, or any damages arising from use of the tool. By using JSONCraft you agree not to attempt to attack, overload, or deface the hosted application.

Cookies & Storage

JSONCraft does not set tracking cookies. The application uses browser localStorage to remember your UI preferences (theme, indent size, panel layout) and your most recent document so you don't lose work on reload. This data lives only in your browser and can be cleared at any time via your browser's site settings. No data in localStorage is ever transmitted anywhere.

Security

JSONCraft is distributed as a Progressive Web App over HTTPS with HSTS. The jq query engine runs in a sandboxed Web Worker. We publish Subresource Integrity hashes for all bundled assets and apply strict Content Security Policy headers via our hosting layer. Source code is public on GitHub; please report vulnerabilities via the repository's security advisory system.

Open Source Licenses

JSONCraft itself is MIT-licensed. It bundles the following open-source dependencies, each distributed under its respective license:

  • jq — MIT License (jq 1.7 compiled to WebAssembly)
  • React — MIT License
  • Vite — MIT License
  • Lucide Icons — ISC License

Full third-party license texts are included with the source distribution.
