JSONCraft — JSON Editor
JSONCraft's editor lets you paste or drop a JSON document and work with it entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is tracked. The editor supports documents up to tens of megabytes with syntax highlighting, folding, a collapsible tree view, and live validation.
What you can do in the editor
- Format and minify — toggle between pretty-printed and compact output.
- Validate — invalid JSON is flagged with line and column numbers.
- Auto-repair — one click fixes trailing commas, unquoted keys, single quotes, and comments.
- Diff — compare two JSON documents side by side with inline highlighting.
- Query — jq (compiled to WebAssembly) and JSONPath, both running in a Web Worker.
- Convert — JSON ↔ YAML, TOML, XML, CSV.
- Generate types — TypeScript interfaces, Zod schemas, JSON Schema, Go structs.
- Share — one-click URL encoding; data lives in the fragment and never reaches a server.
How to format JSON online with JSONCraft
- Paste JSON into the left panel, or drop a
.json file onto the window.
- Click Format for pretty-printed output, or Minify for compact.
- If parsing fails, the error is shown with its line and column. Use Auto-repair to fix common defects.
- Open the Query panel to run a jq or JSONPath expression against the document.
- Open the Convert or Generate tabs to export YAML/TOML/XML/CSV or scaffold TypeScript/Zod/JSON Schema/Go code.
Privacy
The JSONCraft app runs as static files served from a CDN. The browser executes everything locally — the application code never issues a network request after load. You can verify this in DevTools (Network tab). Documents shared via the Share button are encoded into the URL fragment (the portion after #), which browsers never transmit to servers.
